The World-Herald obtained and analyzed five years worth of salary information for more than 2,000 county employees. Click a department to see the records, or search for a name. While records for all employees are listed, names are included only for those making more than $50,000, which is roughly the state household median income.

The county has several ways of boosting salaries, including lump-sum payments, annual cost-of-living increases and pay boosts on anniversaries meant to keep salaries on pace with other local governments. Those who have stayed in the same position, on average, have increased their salaries by 19 percent over the past five years.

The result is almost $99 million spent on salaries alone, up from $83 million in just 2006.
