SI.com also honored Henery as a first-team All-American, and he was named one of three finalists for the Rudy Award, presented Jan. 11 to the athlete who most displays character, courage, contribution and commitment in the spirit of former Notre Dame player Daniel “Rudy'' Ruettiger.

Second-team All-Big 12: Coaches chose Oklahoma State's Dan Bailey as the first-team all-conference kicker. Bailey also won the Lou Groza Award, presented to the nation's top kicker, an honor for which Henery did not make the cut as one of three finalists.

Henery was honored as the special teams MVP for the third consecutive year, after another season of outstanding place-kicking and punting. Henery was also named a team captain and the winner of the Guy Chamberlin Trophy, presented annually to the Husker senior who exhibits the qualities of Nebraska All-American Guy Chamberlin.
