• Sirles says: On not receiving an offer from homestate Colorado: "I was a little disappointed," Sirles said at the time he committed. "I would have loved to stay in state, but you can't cry over spilled milk."
• Did you know? Sirles was originally offered by former NU coach Bill Callahan, then offered again by new coach Bo Pelini. He was a key part on a line that blocked for the state's leading passer and a running back that was named the Class 5A player of the year.
• Coachspeak: "Jeremiah's leadership up front is unquestioned," Bear Creek coach Tom Thenell told the Rocky Mountain News. "He is a talented blocker in run or pass situations."
• The gurus say: Rivals.com lists him as the No. 7 prospect in Colorado. The Rocky Mountain News named him an All-Colorado player twice. In October, Bear Creek was recognized by ESPN RISE as a team to watch, and the publication called Sirles "one of the nation's most promising prospects."
• About Sirles: Committed to NU in late October after visiting for the blowout loss to Missouri. He turned down offers from some of the top-tier teams in the Big 12, Pac-10, Big Ten and Big East. He's been listed at 6-foot-8, but NU officially lists him at 6-6.
• Our take: A redshirt seems imminent with NU returning all but two members of an offensive line rotation that went as many as eight deep on a regular basis. But much like the other lineman Nebraska brings in with this class, Sirles' size and track record bode well for the future.
