Did you know?
Fisher is set to play Buck linebacker, the position manned by Ali Highsmith for the past three years on Bo Pelni's LSU defense. Highsmith was a two-time Butkus Award semifinalist and a second-team AP All-American as a senior last year.
Coachspeak
"He's so intelligent that there's not too much he can't process quickly. That's why he can play the game so aggressive and fast, because he understands what's going on around him." -- Fred Petito, Millard North coach
The gurus say
Fisher is listed as the No. 17 strongside linebacker by scout.com and the No. 41 outside linebacker by rivals.com.
About Fisher
An intriguing prospect, Fisher ended his recruitment early with a June pledge to the Huskers but not until Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Arizona State, Iowa and others offered scholarships. He stayed steady through the turmoil at NU, leading Millard North to a berth in the Class A title game. There, Fisher rushed 44 times for 198 yards in a 26-21 loss to Omaha Central as the Mustangs played without much of their offensive firepower. "The things we knew about Sean on a day-in-and-day-out basis," Petito said, "everyone else got to see in that game."
Our take
The adjustment to outside linebacker should go smoothly for Fisher, who played safety in high school. He's got room to put on more weight but won't get too big at that position. It remains to be seen if he possesses the quickness needed in this defense to take on shifty playmakers.
