Private William Croft
Company H, 6th Michigan Infantry
Croft was born in 1844. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on February 25, 1865 at Pontiac, Michigan. Croft served about 6 months before being discharged on August 15, 1865 at Detroit. One Civil War source indicates that Croft was hospitalized at the Harper Hospital in Detroit on July 26, 1865 until his discharge date.
He died on February 15, 1930 at the age of 85 years. He is buried in the Parkview Cemetery in Hastings (Adams County), Nebraska. Croft was a member of the Strickland Post (#13) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Hastings.
