Private George Gustin
Company F, 115th Indiana Infantry
Gustin was born in Madison County, Indiana on June 25, 1848. The 15 year old was living in Sullivan County, Indiana when he enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on July 29, 1863. Gustin served 7 months before being discharged on February 25, 1864 at Indianapolis.
The 115th Indiana Infantry was organized and mustered at Indianapolis for 6 months of service on August 13, 1863. The unit performed guard and patrol duty in East Tennessee.
Gustin died on October 14, 1930 at the age of 82 years. He is buried in the Grand Island Cemetery in Grand Island (Hall County), Nebraska. Gustin was a member of the Lyon Post (#11) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Grand Island.
