Private Jonathan M Ludwick
Company I, 11th Indiana Infantry
Ludwick (also spelled Ludwich) was born on December 12, 1841. He enlisted and was mustered in the regiment on September 27, 1864. He served about 9 months and was mustered out on June 16, 1865.
Ludwick joined the regiment during the 1864 Shenandoah Valley Campaign. During his enlistment the unit fought at the Battle of Cedar Creek (VA) (October 19, 1864). In January 1865 the outfit was sent to Fort Marshall (Baltimore) for the balance of the Civil War.
He died on 3 Dec 1924 at the age of 82 years. He is buried in the Clearwater Cemetery in Clearwater (Antelope County), Nebraska. He was the last member of the Orchard Post (#317) of the Grand Army of the Republic in Orchard.
