Nebraska Beats Oklahoma Team in Handy Style

Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 23 — It was a different team that faced Oklahoma university here today from that which met Kansas last week. The Cornhuskers battled like fiends, and the superior work of the Oklahoma eleven in the use of the forward pass enabled them to get within striking distance of the Nebraska goal. The scarlet and cream team was able to tear through the Oklahomans’ forward at will, and the star work of the Nebraska backs was responsible for the 18 to 9 defeat which Nebraska administered to the visitors.

Once in the third quarter Nebraska carried the ball to the Oklahoma two-yard line, when a forward pass was attempted, but the ball hit the ground. Again, in the fourth quarter, the Nebraska eleven asked straight through the Oklahoma forwards to the Oklahoma five-yard line, here another forward pass was attempted, but it was intercepted behind the goal line by Reeds.

Oklahoma netted the first touchdown ... in the first period. With the ball on Nebraska’s forty-five-yard line, Reeds ... a forward pass to W. Clark for ...-three yards to Nebraska’s twelve-yard line, where, on the third down, ... carried the ball over. Goal was missed.
